Italian Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients
6 medium portobello mushrooms
1/4 lb mild Italian sausage
1/2 block cream cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (reserve about 1 tsp for topping)
- Garnish Topping
Reserved Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian bread crumbs or panko
1 tsp green onion tops or chives
Directions
- Gently remove the stems from your mushrooms, creating little edible cups. Don’t toss those stems—we’ll use them later!
- Pre-heat oven to 375°F
- In a pan, sauté the crumbled Italian sausage until it’s browned. Mix in the reserved mushroom stems for extra flavor.
- Blend sausage mixture with cheeses, and fill each mushroom cap with a generous spoonful of the sausage mixture.
- Mix together reserved parm and bread crumbs. Sprinkle over stuffed mushroom
- Pop those stuffed mushrooms into the oven for about 15 minutes or until the top is golden.
- Top with green onions or chives. Enjoy!
