Homemade Cheeseburger Helper

Share Our Recipes

This isn’t the stuff we ate out of a box in the 90’s; this is flavorful and cheesy goodness in a pan!

Don’t let the ingredients fool you; it’s all about the umami of the soy and Dijon. Before you notice, we did swap the chicken broth for beef in the actual cook 😉

Unlike the boxed stuff, you will need two pans for this recipe. Other than chopping onion, the recipe is a splash of this and that, mix to combine, and dump the cooked noodles in the meat mixture.

We felt one quick cheat was in order, so we did use processed cheese, but feel free to make your own béchamel with a load of sharp cheddar.

Pair this with a quick salad or steamer vegetable, and you have a good, hearty dinner! Or even slap some between a piece of buttered white bread, and you’re transported back to 1996!
